Across from the creek is a trail through the woods going down to the beach. I have already posted some shots of it (Wedding Party Prep at the Cabin--June 2007) but here are some more because this path rocks.
As you make your way through the woods, the beach starts to show through the trees in one direction and the cabin in the other. The creek runs out to the beach draining into Clarence Straights on a low tide.

Megan and Jonathan!
It's been awhile since I checked your blog. What great posts! How thrilling it is for me to be able to share your pioneering experience from across this continent. Funny how a virtual experience can feel so vicarious. Does my heart a world of good to see the "next generation" putting healthy practices to use. You are so brave!
Your gardens are lookin' good. I love the split log containments. I imagine you've started a compost pile...
Glad to see your garden journal. I haven't been as diligent with the chronological photos and records of our gardens this year. Tsk to me. Still, things are moving along. We've been putting up tomatoes (San Marzano's that practically melt under heat, Romas, Early Girls, and the Supersonics that are so fleshy and sweet); Italian green beans, bush beans, peppers, herbs, etc. Freezer's just about full.
Dad would have turned 77 on the 22nd. Danny and I brought a rose up to the cemetary in remembrance of his annual declaration of being "the last rose of summer."
Twenty years, next month, that he's gone. I was struck by that reality on Father's Day and find that this year it's hitting me harder. Perhaps it's because it could have been yesterday that he was still laughing with us; but twenty years kind of puts that illusion to bed.
Ah, well. We carry on. Are you back to school? Any new students? (And your thesis defense?)
Oh! Before I forget, Happy Birthday to you, dear Megan. I truly hope you have a wonderful day of celebration and a full year of new awakenings.
G'bless you both. Stay healthy and strong and seize the day.
Much love,
Susan
